I grew up in a rural community in southern Indiana, where I spent a lot of time running through the forest, walking the creeks and creating characters and stories in my head. As an adult, those things really haven't changed, except now I live in Colorado. I’m a freelance journalist and editor specializing in parenting topics and author of the picture book, Victor and the Vroom, based on my son’s ADHD diagnosis. Previously, I've worked as a craft magazine editor and book editor, and have written for a number of magazines, websites an blogs. I hold degrees in Journalism and English from Indiana University, and am a member of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Society of Children's Books Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI). Currently, I work as the content and press associate for Friendship Bridge, a nonprofit that serves impoverished women in Guatemala.
